Let’s Start a Conversation

Nearly a year ago I wrote a blog in gratitude to the community surrounding this page and its Facebook page. This article was to accompany it a few days later but for some reason I never post it. Today I post it for all to read…

One of the reasons I was having a difficult time posting on the blog was having too many ideas. There are so many ideas going through my mind that I haven’t been able to figure out where I want to start. It became overwhelming; so much so that I began to avoid anything to do with the blog.

Some would ask, “What is so difficult with a blog? Just write from experiences, what you feel, and what you believe.” It isn’t as easy as that. Particularly when you are a private person and do not like to talk about your personal life. I’ll talk about life, philosophy, and topics of the day. As much as I love everyone it doesn’t mean I will discuss my personal life with everyone. I can count on one hand those who I would discuss personal issues with.

As I have re-discovered that writing and having a blog is part of my path, I began to ask myself how do I want to proceed with the blog? Keep it simple, then slowly integrate all those ideas. What is that one simple thing that I can begin with?

I do know one thing about myself above all other things – I am a listener. My basic natural self is listening. Some people love to tell stories and talk about current events – I love to listen. Every now and then I interject into the conversation.

I like being part of the conversation. I am not fond of debating because it involves winners and losers. A conversation is a willingness to share and get to know another person – no judgement, no right or wrong.

I like being part of a conversation, getting it started, being a “devil’s advocate” at times. Okay lots of times.

That is what I want to do here. Get conversations going and keep them going. Get the energy out there about a subject and we share with each other our thoughts and experiences about the subject of the moment.

There are a lot of conversations out there, some die quickly and others continue with a life of their own. My goal here is to have conversations on the blog but they do not have to stay here. I would want to continue beyond the web page. Take the conversation to your friends, family, and beyond.

How does being spiritual effect you in this material world? How can we share ourselves with each other without judgement? In conversation, we are not holding a debate but sharing ourselves; showing love to one another – spreading love, compassion, and non-judgement.

Soon I hope to begin our first topical conversation. At this time, I don’t know what I will write about but I ask you please join me.
